Looking up from Berkeley Amtrak to the memorial for the victim of a hit and run on University overpass a couple weeks ago. Twelve years ago today, I stood here trying to comfort a 10-year-old who did not want me to take that afternoon train to Sacramento, where I was scheduled to teach a readers’ advisory class the next day. And today, I am teaching readers’ advisory still, early in the fourth week of an online course.

  1. Bittersweet. Prayers to the victim of the hit and run. Where it the 22-year old now?

  2. Opps: Where IS the 22-year old now.
